The coronavirus pandemic has drastically changed daily work and private life. The highest priority for K&W Transmissies is the health and safety of our employees and customers. We are closely monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19 and following the established health and safety protocols. We also adhere to all the recommendations and guidelines of the World Health Organization (and in the Netherlands the RIVM). At the same time, we are ensuring that our business activities can continue in accordance with those guidelines and that production is affected as little as possible. Customer visits are being postponed as much as possible. In the meantime, we will use online technology as much as possible to conduct meetings and training sessions. In these difficult times, we would like to wish everyone the very best as you deal with the measures surrounding the pandemic and most of all we hope that you and your loved ones will be spared. The K&W Transmissies team is looking forward to a quick and smooth return to “normal working life”. Stay safe and healthy!
In addition to our A-brands roller chain, brands like HKK Chain and Wippermann roller chain of top quality, we also deliver roller chains in the DINN series, produced under the expertise and supervision of K&W Transmissies in China. If the price must be the deciding factor, this chain is a good alternative.

Team 7, Hans Ketelaar and Diana Hoolwerf drived the ScanCoveryTrial 2019 together for the first time. Hans gained experience during an earlier edition, and this made his wife so enthusiastic that he could not miss out on a joint participation. In their daily lives, Hans and Diana work together at their company K&W Transmissies as highly skilled chain specialists to provide Dutch machine builders with the perfect chain and matching customized sprockets.
Over a period of one week, the ScanCoveryTrial crisscrossed beautiful Scandinavia. During that week, our Team 7 drived over 7,000 kilometres, often through lots of snow and ice, in temperatures down to minus 47 degrees Celsius. The team visited the special destination in North of Norway. The 9th edition started on Thursday, January 3th, and finished on Saturday, January 12th, 2019. The route was similar to that of previous years, except for the special destination, which was top secret. The ScanCoveryTrial is definitely not a race or a rally competition but a car journey in which the strict observance of the traffic rules is essential for the entire trip.
K&W Transmissies supports and encourages charities and (sports) activities with its sponsorship. In this way, K&W Transmissies hopes to make a valuable contribution to society. We are sponsoring the following sports activities for the 2018-2019 season.
K&W Transmissies sponsors Carrouselgroep De Poelenburgh Ruiters. This fanatic group of riders, who have been competing in equestrian drill team events with great pleasure for more than 10 years, trains every week at Duinmanege van Poelenburgh. A drill team (or carrousel in Dutch) provides a fun way to ride horses as a team sport. During the maneuvers, the official name of the test, the teams perform the dressage figures riding several horses side by side. The maneuvers are set to music, whereby the rhythm of the music matches the gait of the horses (walk, trot or canter.
K&W Transmissies supports ElitE 3 and therefore sponsors this football team. The AFC 34 friends team from Alkmaar has also been given the opportunity to recruit an ElitE professional for an indefinite period of time. Roy Pistoor, a multi-talent on and off the pitch, should make it easier for R. Mohr to achieve good results in the coming year.
Football is all about technique ... and action! These are aspects K&W Transmissies shares with ElitE3!
Increasing production capacities
In order to be able to continue to meet the growing market demand, K&W Transmissies is investing in the purchase of the new Doosan Puma lathe. This was done to increase production capacities and to further increase the accuracy of the production of its own sprockets and other round parts. This machine is particularly suitable for machining smaller and medium-sized sprockets.
Greater accuracy and reliability
The new Doosan Puma is ECO friendly and, due to the improved ergonomics, also more accessible for the machine operator. The shorter spindle drive reduces noise, vibration and heat, increasing accuracy and reliability. K&W Transmissies will also continue to train machine operators with regard to the operation of the Doosan Puma lathe. To stay completely up to date, external courses are also given to the machine operators of K&W Transmissies, especially for this machine. In this way, K&W Transmissies ensures it retains a team of specialists.
Producing sprockets since 1996
In 1996, K&W Transmissies started setting up its own machining center for machining standard sprockets. Since that time, it has grown into a complete sprocket factory, where the complete production of special sprockets and other round parts takes place. High-quality technological equipment and machines facilitate the manufacture of customer-specific products in various designs from a wide range of steel grades, as well as from plastic and stainless steel, for example. K&W Transmissies’ production hall is fully and optimally equipped for this. It has several fully automatic saw benches, a specially equipped welding line with welding manipulators, a location with conventional lathes and a location with modern CNC lathes and milling machines. There is also a department with various broaching, drilling and tapping machines.
K&W Transmissies has had its own special CAD/CAM software developed, with which the parameters for the desired tooth shape can be set efficiently.
Continuing to invest
K&W Transmissies will also continue to invest in the future. By working closely with our customers, we know what they need to continue to produce better, faster and more profitably.
